Adaptable and Versatile
The Cortez is perfect for short spans. Also, this beam bridge can be used with concrete and asphalt. This is a simple span beam bridge that supports a concrete deck slab and stay-in-place forms, or a bridge plank and asphalt system. It is a short span solution that is very competitive with prestressed concrete alternatives, especially when member weight and dead loads are a concern.
At U.S. Bridge, we work with the highest quality steel when designing and building bridges. With decades of experience, our team of dedicated experts always choose the best material for bridges, create the most strategic design, and work aesthetically with environmental conditions to make the best bridge possible. Further, at U.S. Bridge, we are proud to work with steel as our primary building medium. Our bridges are well-made, easy to maintain, and available in a variety of design and support types.
Benefits of the Cortez
Here are some of the benefits of the Cortez short span bridge. It is easy to install without specialized equipment. It is available in custom lengths of up to 80 ft. And if you want to add to the looks of it, there are galvanized, self weathering or painted finishes available. Also, like most of our U.S. Bridge structures, the Cortez bridge can be built quickly. It is accelerated construction time that results in reduced costs. This is because it contains all bolted connections, which allows for faster assembly of the structure. Lastly, steel is not only a durable material, it also guarantees minimal maintenance.
The design of the structure is an all-bolted beam bridge configured in the Cortez style as manufactured by U.S. Bridge. The beams are provided full length with no splices, and with bolted transverse diaphragms and offset supports for the guiderail system.
